Dear Hornet Soccer Fan--

A few years ago, we introduced the creation of the "Friends of Hornet Soccer" booster club, which was founded in order to enhance the overall quality of the Kalamazoo College women's soccer program through the support of its membership.

Not only does the "Friends of Hornet Soccer" organization help the K College women's soccer program meet its fundraising goals and needs, but it also helps create an environment in which our fan base--the parents, alumni, and friends of the program--can stay informed and become more involved in K College soccer.

Being an alumnus of the program myself, one of the main goals I set upon taking over the K soccer program as head coach in January 2005 was to increase alumni involvement. The Kalamazoo College women's soccer program has more tradition and history than almost any other college soccer program in the country... we have one of the largest and most talented groups of alumni around... and yet, through no fault of our own, for a long time our alumni were extremely uninvolved with their Hornet Soccer roots. A steady stream of coaching changes in the late-1990s and early-2000s made it nearly impossible for the program's alumni to stay in touch with the program. Together, though, this is something that we have been changing during the past few years!

If you are interested in becoming more involved and supporting our program, please e-mail us . We would be thrilled with all types of donations... financial support is extremely important, but money isn't everything! We would also love to have people donate things such as their time (helping with post-game food for the players and their families at home games, for instance)... their ideas (for instance, you can pass along suggestions about events we could host in conjunction with games, etc.)... and even their knowledge/advice (we would love to have alumni share their memories with the current team, in order to pass on important Hornet traditions). Please get involved in any way you can!
